Using my talents to raise funds for a great cause! 100% of profits on this book charm (ordered before May 30th) will support the 2015 Team Eugene Aquatics Swim-A-Thon.

What is a Swim-A-Thon?

A Swim-a-thon is a fundraiser used by year-round swim teams all over the United States to raise money for their respective club. To raise money for a Swim-a-Thon, swimmers receive pledges and donations from family members, friends, neighbors, and local businesses (me in this case!).

This year the team is raising money to go toward greatly needed new timing equipment (over $20,000) as well as a 25% increase in pool dues. In addition, a small percentage of the funds received will go to support the following:

- TEAM Eugene has a scholarship fund that allows children to swim year around in a sport that their families cannot afford on their own. Many teams do not have a scholarship fund.

- A portion of the funds donated by you go to supporting the US National and US Olympic Team.

Thank you for your support. Go TEAM Eugene!

On a Ring and a Prayer: A Jessie Stanton Novel, by Sandra D. Bricker

Twelve years of marriage, 4,000 square feet of dream house, and a handsome husband. Jessie Stanton has it all… until one fateful afternoon when she notices her BMW bouncing by the window behind a tow truck. Her husband has gone, and he’s taken it all.

The whirling tornado that cuts down the life she’s built drops Jessie onto the sandy beach of Malibu with a thud, penniless and alone. When all she’s left with are the designer labels in her closet and the dreamy Neil Lane rock on her finger, Jessie tries to make ends meet by pawning her prized ring to fund a new business venture: a small shop where her designer duds and shimmering accessories are temporarily leased out to Southern California women with champagne tastes but root beer realities. As Jessie tries to rebuild, she realizes she can’t move on, not without answers. Reluctantly, Jessie turns to beach bum/private investigator Danny Callahan for help. But is she staking her future success and happiness…on a ring and a prayer?

A Shot at Happy, by Chris Guiton

28-year-old Drew Kelly knows exactly how to be happy. No work, no bills and no responsibilities.

And definitely no relationships.

Rather than dealing with life’s daily struggles, Drew only does what he wants, when he wants. Like volunteering at the local soup kitchen, reading for hours, and playing basketball every morning with his buddies at the sports club.

Life is good.

Or so he thinks.

When Drew meets the charming but conventional Natalie, their instantaneous connection turns his world upside down. While Drew can’t resist Natalie’s positive vibe, Natalie is inspired by Drew’s spontaneity and is liberated with every unpredictable moment spent with him. Together, they explore a depth of happiness they never thought possible….but are they willing to give up life as they know it just to make it work?

A Shot at Happy is a quirky, lighthearted love story that will not only make you laugh, but it will also make you rethink your life’s priorities, appreciate the value of your relationships, and reconsider what truly makes you happy.

But mostly, it will make you ask yourself: In the quest for happiness, should you follow your head or your heart?

The Sword of Demelza, by J.E. Rogers

Cynric, King of Demelza, is haunted by his past. In an effort to escape it, he wields a powerful sword, commanding his dragon lizards and a malevolent thylacine, to wreak havoc throughout the realm. Villages are burning and innocent creatures are dying.

Erik and Emma, two young marsupials, and Devon, an orphaned red fox, are on their own personal quests; two to save a life, one to destroy another. When their paths cross, these natural enemies forge an unusual friendship. Soon they hear of the devastation caused by the evil king and they realize that their personal objectives must be put aside. Even though that decision will affect their own lives, and the lives of the ones they love, they are determined to help their fellow creatures. They put themselves at risk by joining a motley crew of animals, whose main objective is to end the reign of King Cynric.

A final battle will take place in the shadow of Fortress Demelza as the king’s forces clash with this rag tag band of creatures from the countryside. The fate of Sunderland and its inhabitants is at stake.

From the Author: The Sword of Demelza is a middle grade fantasy where endangered animal heroes roam the pages, and the Australian landscape comes alive! A glossary at the end of the book provides information about the unusual flora and fauna found within the story, and only on the continent of Australia. Wonderful Illustrations throughout the book will help bring the creatures to life. A sneak peek of The Gift of Sunderland, the second book in the Australian Fantasy Adventures, is included.

Filled with profound lessons of loyalty, friendship, tolerance and dedication to a cause, J.E. Rogers delivers a fantasy filled with excitement and unforgettable characters. It is truly an exciting journey, populated by fascinating beings. A must read for every child, young and old!
